Mouthguards – Sports Equipment For Your Mouth
Many sports require athletes to use a mouthguard to protect their teeth while practicing and playing. Frequently used in contact sports, the mouthguard covers the gums and teeth to provide protection for lips, gums, teeth, and arches. A properly fitted mouthguard can reduce the severity of dental injuries.
Pre-formed, ready-to-wear mouthguards can be purchased inexpensively at many sporting stores, but they do not always fit well. They can be uncomfortable and interfere with talking and even breathing.
Sporting goods stores also offer semi-custom mouthguards, in which the plastic is heated and then the athlete bites on it while still warm to provide some level of custom fit.
Our office makes custom mouthguards by taking a digital scan of your teeth and then creating a device fitted to your mouth for the highest level of both comfort and protection. A custom-fitted mouthguard can be particularly important for athletes who wear braces.

They were so nice when they put my braces on. They were sore to eat harder food, which they told me. They have a fun way for us kids to have fun there even though it's a dentist office. They have 2 packs for braces, and they explain everything step by step. They have raffles and all the dentists there worked very efficiently and professionally. They got braces on me the first day I went there, so they move very fast and don't make you go back all the time unlike other places I've been to. Doctor Baum was very helpful also. I definitely recommend Baum Braces to anybody looking for orthodontist work.
